G.I. Joe began in 1964 as action figures, representing the four branches of the United States army. There were the action soldiers which represented the U.S. Army, action sailers which represented the U.S. Navy, action pilots which represented the Air Force, and the action marines which represented the Marine Corps. Later, they added the action nurse. In 2003, the development for the first film for G.I. Joe began, however Hasbro decided to take priority for the Transformers movie, so it was delayed until 2009, with the first G.I. Joe film being "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra". Later in 2013, a second film was released called "G.I. Joe: The Retaliation".
